76/100Kindness Overload!!!!Continue on AniListMy Review of "The Demon King’s Daughter is Too Kind!!"
Doux must be protected at all costs.
____Story____ Demon King Ahriman was once feared as the ruler of all demons. However, his current goal is to raise his daughter, Doux, to be a true demon so she’ll be ready to take up his spot on the throne. Unfortunately for him, Doux is too kind and generous to show signs of being a demon. She keeps befriending people that she meets and is unable to adjust to being evil. Ahriman assigns Jahi, the one Doux refers to as her older sister, to help Doux become evil. To do this, Jahi runs her own personal trials on Doux, challenging her to think and act mischievously towards others. This show showcases these trials and the connections Doux makes along the way.

____The Good____ This is a fun children’s anime done right. It’s not overly childish to where older audiences can’t enjoy the silliness of it, but it also does enough to feel like a children’s show. Doux’s personality is contagious even outside of the show and she’s definitely a character worth protecting. The little songs in each episode were sometimes catchy and really added to the vibes the show was going for. The animation was also fairly good for this show, not noticing too many sliding photos or stuff of that kind. I honestly liked the OP and ED of this anime. Although I wouldn’t put it on my playlist, it was just nice to sing along and get you in the right mindset when watching this anime. The story lacked drama and villains, which I thought made this anime better simply because adding either of those elements would’ve probably ruined the vibes of this show for me. This was a pretty good children’s anime and despite not being a child, I liked watching this a lot.

____The Bad____ To be honest, I didn’t find anything bad about this anime. I thought this didn’t have any significant problems for what this show aimed to be. If I really had to be nitpicky, I would argue that certain side characters deserved more time. I feel like characters like Asshim or Thaiti deserved more screentime because of the episodes that gave them character. Another nitpick for me was that Dahaka should’ve shown up earlier in the show because of her importance in terms of her connection with the MC, Doux. I kind of understand why they would show her so late into the show, but I feel like they showed her so many times in the OP and ED that she should’ve played a bigger role in the story. These were the small nitpicks I had from the show and I don’t think they took too much out of the story for me.

____The Downright Ugly____ How could something be downright ugly about this anime?

____Is It Worth The Watch?____ If you love wholesome and silly children's anime, this is definitely worth a watch. This show was my hopecore of the season and was one of the shows that left a smile on my face with each episode. It didn’t need antagonists or massive drama to fuel the story and succeeded with simple bits and moments that warranted a smile or two.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope this helped you with your decision on whether to watch this anime or not! If you already have watched it, I hope that you can agree with me with some of the points I made. If you enjoyed this review, I would greatly appreciate a follow too! ^^

100/100The most underrated gem of Winter 2026.Continue on AniListThe Demon King's Daughter is Too Kind!! is the most slept-on show of Winter 2026 and it genuinely bothers me that more people aren't talking about it.
I know what you're thinking. "cute demon girl does wholesome things instead of evil things, seen it before." And yeah, that IS the premise. Demon King Ahriman's daughter Doux is way too kind to be a demon, and his aide Jahi gets the job of turning her into a proper one. Sounds straightforward right? That's what I thought too. I was so, so wrong.
This show made me laugh out loud and then hit me with something genuinely emotional like two minutes later. Multiple times. Per episode. The comedy isn't one-note either. Yeah Doux subverting evil plans into wholesome outcomes is the core bit, but the show keeps finding new ways to build on it and the timing is honestly perfect. Ahriman trying to keep his whole "fearsome demon king" act together while his daughter turns every scheme into a charity event?? Never gets old.
But let's talk about what really makes this show special.
Doux is the most lovable protagonist I've seen in years. She isn't just generically "nice". Her kindness is almost stubborn? Like she actively refuses to accept that cruelty is how things should work. Watching her heal enemies she's supposed to fight, befriend creatures that should terrify her... it hits different every time. You'd think it would get repetitive but it just doesn't.
Now, the actual heart of the show, and this is the hill I'll die on is Jahi.
Jahi starts with a clear mission: make Doux a proper demon. Simple. But what happens over the course of the series is so much more interesting than that. You watch her resolve slowly crack, not because she's failing at her job, but because Doux's kindness is genuinely getting to her. There's this shift in the later episodes where Jahi starts to realize that maybe she's the one who needed to change, not Doux. And the show doesn't spell this out with some big dramatic speech it's all in the little things. A hesitation here, a softer expression there, reaching out where she used to pull away. The way their relationship evolves from "handler and subject" to something real and warm is honestly some of the best character writing I've seen in a comedy anime. It caught me completely off guard.
The animation isn't going to blow your mind. EMT Squared doesn't exactly have the biggest budget. But the art direction is bright and colorful, and the character expressions carry SO much of the comedy and emotion that you kinda stop caring about production values pretty quick. when the show wants you to feel something, you feel it, fancy animation or not.
I binged this whole thing in one sitting and I genuinely didn't want it to end. Every episode I kept thinking "okay this is cute but it can't keep this up" and then it just... did. It kept being funny and kept surprising me with how much heart it has underneath the silly premise.
This show deserves way better. If you want something that'll make your day better, make you laugh, make you tear up a little and leave you with that warm fuzzy feeling watch this. You won't regret it.
