  My Review: In the Clear Moonlit Dusk (12 episodes)
  

  Overall, In the Clear Moonlit Dusk was a fairly enjoyable watch. While the pacing can sometimes feel a bit stretched and certain moments don’t add much to the overall progression, it still remains a pleasant and easy-to-follow romance. For a 12-episode adaptation, covering roughly up to volume 7 of the manga is quite satisfying, even if the structure occasionally feels uneven.

  Going into this anime, my expectations were somewhat inconsistent. At times, I was hoping for something more impactful or emotionally deeper, while at other moments I expected something more generic. In the end, it lands somewhere in between: not disappointing, but not particularly memorable either.

  One of my main criticisms is the lack of deeper thematic exploration. The series introduces interesting ideas, especially through Yoi’s character and her “missed boyhood” aspect, but it doesn’t fully commit to exploring them. This element could have added more emotional weight and identity-related depth, yet it mostly stays on the surface. Because of that, the romance can feel somewhat superficial at times.

  That being said, I was pleasantly surprised by certain aspects. I didn’t really know what to expect from the male lead beforehand, and I hadn’t heard much about him, but he turned out to be more enjoyable than I initially thought. He may not appear particularly striking at first, yet he becomes quite engaging as the story progresses.

  Visually, the anime stands out thanks to its cool-toned color palette, which creates a soft and calming atmosphere. While the character art isn’t always perfectly consistent, some shots are genuinely beautiful and well-composed. The aesthetic direction plays a big role in making the series feel relaxing, even if it might not appeal to everyone.

  As for the romance itself, it leans toward simplicity. It can sometimes feel repetitive and lacks a stronger sense of progression, but I still appreciated its overall development. The relationship grows in a way that is easy to follow, even if it doesn’t take many risks or go particularly deep.

  Both main characters are likable and easy to get attached to, which helps carry the show despite its flaws. The opening theme is average in my opinion, while the soundtrack is decent and fits the tone without being especially memorable.

  In the end, this isn’t anime of the year, and it doesn’t try to be. It’s a simple, somewhat superficial romance, but also a chill and enjoyable one that succeeds in what it aims to do. Not outstanding, but still nice to watch.

  Achei muito fofinha a cabeçuda que fica vermeia e fica fazendo careta toda hora

  Um anime legal que eu não tenho muito oque falar dele e que oque eu mais anotei foi coisa da opening kkkkkkkkkk.

  

  Gostei bastante, então bem triste que eu não anotei muito, ele é muito lindo do começo e tal, mas é engraçado como que às vezes a câmera chega perto da Yoi e ela fica com um cabeçon kkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  

  Parece que isso é mais coisa do começo, e mais para o final ele acaba ficando mais abstrato, não que seja ruim, acaba até melhorando porque eu fiquei toda hora dando risada por causa das caras.

  Das que eu mais gostei foi por causa disso, muito fofas as amigas da Yoi, gosto muito das partes que tem elas

  

  

  

  E do nada no penúltimo episódio apresenta a personagem mais expressiva do anime possível, quase uma Charlie Brown da vida.

  

  A história é sobre 3 príncipes, um é uma mulher, a Yoi, que é cobiçada mais mulheres sendo comparada com um príncipe por causa da sua aparência e altura, ela também tem um complexo contra homens por nenhum "querer uma mulher maior que eles", isso até o segundo príncipe da escola, o Ichimura.

  Loucura que é o primeiro crédito de dublagem da seiyuu da Yoi, achei ela tão boa

  

  Ele pegou um "amor a primeira vista" com a Yoi e depois de várias investidas ela aceita fazer um test drive de uma relação amorosa para ver se vai ser uma boa ideia kkkkkkkkkkk

  

  O terceiro é literalmente um cara chamado príncipe em japonês kkkkkkkk, o Ouji, ele se apaixona com a Yoi numa visita ao restaurante da família dela onde ela trabalha e depois ele até começa a trabalhar lá, ele é bem mais secundário, mas faz o Ichimura pensar se ele não tivesse sido tão direto, talvez ele pudesse ter sido trocado bem facilmente kkkkkkkkkk.

  Eu não acredito que vai ter um terceiro príncipe

  

  O anime é bem bonito, ao invés de eu anotar eu fiquei tirando print toda hora kkkkkkkkkkkkk dai no final acabei não tendo nada para falar e um monte de print, meio que usando esse Review como um print dump.

  

  O que eu mais anotei é como que a opening parecia com uma intro do YouTube:

  Bem bacana a transição para opening logo no começo do primeiro episódio
  Achei muito legal a música para a opening começar antes da opening igual intro no YouTube
  Sempre fico impressionado com o quão bonita é a opening

  E sempre penso que reconheço a música da ending de algum lugar, vai ver é parecida com alguma música que conheço, mas não sei dizer qual.

  

  Achei muito fofinha a cabeçuda que fica vermeia toda hora, que fica fazendo umas caretas engraçada todo episódio também.

  Even if it’s not a perfect visual match to the manga, it still manages to carry the heart of the story.

  I really enjoyed In the Clear Moonlit Dusk, it feels like such a refreshing. What stood out to me most is how mature it feels compared to the usual cutesy high school love stories. It embraces complexity and allows emotions to be messy and uncertain. Instead of simplifying love or having both main characters instantly realize their feelings, the story begins with mere attraction and trial dating. From there, it thoughtfully explores whether what they’re experiencing is truly love, while also showing their journey toward breaking away from what others expect them to be and be who they want to be instead.

  Yoi’s journey is what makes it so special. Watching her slowly figure out who she really is and learning to act on what she wants rather than the “Prince” persona everyone has imposed on her, is incredibly compelling. Because she’s more tomboyish and doesn’t fit the traditional mold of femininity, people box her into this role: cool, untouchable, princely. And the problem is, when everyone sees you a certain way for so long, it becomes hard to separate what’s you from what’s expected of you. That pressure quietly shapes how she acts, how she holds herself back, and even how she approaches love.

  Some people might find her frustrating, but honestly, that’s what makes her feel so real to me. She’s guarded, insecure, and sometimes even dishonest about her own feelings, not because she wants to be difficult, but because she doesn’t fully understand herself yet, and vulnerability feels almost impossible. I relate to that a lot, the way you can get so caught up in your own head that opening up feels like the hardest thing in the world, even when you want to.

  That’s also why Ichimura feels perfect for her. He’s straightforward and vocal about how he feels, in a way that balances Yoi’s hesitation. He waits her and humor her, but he also doesn’t let her hide forever which encouraged her to confront her feelings instead of running from them.

  Their dynamic works because it isn’t about fixing each other, but about creating a space where Yoi can slowly learn that she’s allowed to be seen not as a “Prince,” but as herself. And that theme is what made it relatable.

  Now the animation. At first, I’ll admit I was a bit disappointed, it’s hard not to be, especially when the manga’s art is honestly some of the most beautiful out there. The detail, the expressions, the character design... it sets such a high bar that it’s almost impossible to fully replicate in animation. But the more I watched, the more the anime’s style grew on me. It may not capture every delicate detail from the manga, but the characters still look beautiful, and I like the softer visuals. Also, can we talk about the music? I really love the music and sound on this anime!

  In the end, even if it’s not a perfect visual match to the manga, it still manages to carry the heart of the story and that’s what matters most.
