The author is the absolute goat

age gap and fluffiness overload

Fluffy age gap BL that sometimes can have you thinking
"why did I read this again?" Akira (almost in his thirties) inherits a laundromat and gets a teenage boy customer, Shin (17), who, at first glance, seems awfully shocked and almost lovestruck at their "first" meeting. Shin having romantic feelings towards Akira makes it confusing at first, not knowing how the story will play out. Akira's feelings steadily blossom as he takes a liking for the ever charming but pushy Shin. Akira however denies these feelings knowing his boundaries towards a minor. The manga plays out as Shin being pushy towards Akira, even going as far as touching into his sexual desires/fantasies. Akira knowing all of these, keeps a distance between them, but no lengths were too far for Shin to reach. Reaching far though, did no good for both Akira and Shin. As Shin gets jealous easily of quite literally anything. So when he learns about Akira's past, the plot somehow shifted into an angsty, bitter fight quarrel at the end of Volume 5. Shin at times can get very pushy to the point where even I got uncomfortable. Akira plays his cards well as to not set off Shin's ticking-time-bomb emotions. Though, for some people, the main "complaint" is the age-gap, which, to me, is honestly not that big of a deal. As the author did an amazing job making it not weird and somehow really, really, REALLY did a great job of making the age-gap a significant focus of the story— for the characters' growth and not an excuse to make a creepo manga about a man, almost in his thirties, gives in and recklessly falls in love with a highschooler. Although, as fun and whimsical the manga can get at times, there are moments where it gets odd. Shin likes to, sometimes, force his way onto Minato— some scenes can take a, not necessarily, dark turn, where Minato ends up getting extremely uncomfortable and feels the emotional toll of dealing with Shin's pushiness. Minato fully knowing of Shin's weird desires, frequent tendencies of being pushy, and more importantly (and obviously), his age, decides to not reciprocate and at most times, finds a way to deflect and make up reasons to escape the risqué moments of Shin's mischievous antics. 'The author somehow takes all of these ingredients and decided to brew the joyfully sickening manga that is Minato's Laundromat. Really cool manga and very cute despite all the stuff that unravels later on. (Love how dramatic Minato is, rly shows how big of a dork he is)

Side note: the age gap, as horridly as I described it, isn't that bad in the manga. It gets addressed pretty well and shows how Akira handles his stuff
