DESCRIPTION

The crisp rays of summer sun find the effeminate Pico embroiled in yet another heated and lustful fling. While out biking, Pico meets and befriends Chico—a lively boy not much younger than him, but leagues behind in the affairs of the flesh. After the innocent Chico shows his sister in the midst of self-pleasure to Pico, Pico takes it upon himself to educate this confused youth.

      The only thing better than one shota boycrush is two, right? Things aren't really that different from the first episode.

      The story of young Pico and his homoerotic escapades continues in this second installment of the Boku no Pico series. Hopefully the squeamish people are a moot point by this review, because they won't have sat through episode 1. This one is an entirely distinct story from the first, and doesn't seem to reference it in any way, for better or for worse.

      Story: In a nutshell, Pico befriends a boy around his age and teaches him about sex. This episode lacks the conflict-and-resolution structure of the previous, making it a decidedly more Eastern narrative. What isn't really explained is how or why Pico is in this new setting. I have to just assume he's homeless, or some kind of wandering ghost or something. His romantic partner from the previous episode long gone, this one's focus is on two young boys, rather than one young and one not-so-young. Thus, it balances between a sense of childlike innocence and the childlike not-so-innocent. This is kind of what I suspect Gon and Killua do in their free time. ANYWAY, the progression of events feels at least slightly more believable in this episode than it did in the last, and it's much more laid back and slow-moving. I'm sure there are lots of people with childhood stories that share some similarities with this plot (though probably not all of them). Finally, while it's not a significant enough part of the episode to merit watching it just to see, there is some female nudity featured as well, which was entirely absent from the first.

      Art: The art hasn't changed from the previous episode. Still very pretty and bishonen. I will say that the production values in general are a cut above most hentai here.

      Sound: The same goes for sound. The music is surprisingly charming and the theme song cute (if very saccharine), the voices generally well-acted, and overall, no complaints to speak of.

      I would say that this episode was a better entry to the series than the first, simply because the plot wasn't as rushed and character relations/dialogue as unrealistic. It can be interesting to see Pico take the role of dominance that his partner took in the previous episode, as well, in that little bit of reversal. I could easily recommend this to any fans of shota/boy love, but anyone else? Steer clear, and let the fans be fans.
