DESCRIPTION
Two years have passed since the end of the "Martian Successor Nadesico". Akito and Yurika have disappeared. The Jovians and the Earthlings have joined forces and Ruri is now captain of Nadesico B. As the popularity of Boson Jumping grows, a vast transportation network has been developed. Dubbed the Hisago Plan, this network of Chulip portals holds the answers to the mysteries behind Bose particles and their power. If those secrets should fall into the wrong hands, it could mean big trouble. And big trouble there is. A Martian splinter group has launched an offensive, leaving the United Forces befuddled and desperate. So much so, in fact, that the former crew of the Nadesico is called back to active duty for a special unsanctioned mission-to save us all. Does this menagerie of misfits have what it takes? Who will win the race for the Boson technology? And what the heck happened to Akito and Yurika?

This one is an interesting piece, because it had an almost impossible mission - to pack up and make Nadesico ending worth it, and let me say it - it kinda does, but it can't do the impossible. Unfortunately the TV series ending was a huge mess, but the movie did its best to take the limbo taste from the TV ending, if not completely, enough to make me remember the good sides of it more than the bad.
Nadesico was never really good in battles, never really good in the plot, but it had other sides that made the anime one of my personal favorites of all time. The comedy, the characters, the battleship slice of life thing, all this brings good memories about this show. Because everytime Nadesico was trying to be Mobile Suit Gundam ou Yamato it failed hard - and you can see that after a few episodes, when it finds itself and grows bigger than just a Neon Genesis Evangelion rip off. As an unfortunate fate the show didn't know what to do by the ending, so it ended so suddenly and out of explanation that it sounded like the episodes was shut down randomly.
The movie was not the best moment in Nadesico, but it can take some of the best aspects of it. Obviosly the main character came from the rising populariy in pools, the new crew sounded all right, but it really goes nostalgic when it assemble everyone you love - and everyone is differente, older, but they still the same people you used to like in the series. All this with the best animation the series ever had since, probably, the first episode.
I can see the good and bad sides of it yet, like I said early, it can't really give you answers - so you have an ending that doesn't explain much, but show that all those folks are still around somewhere in this galaxy, that Akito is not really lost and Nadesico still and will always be the Battleship you love. I can tell you, all this really feels great when the screen goes black for the last time - because I don't care that much to the plot (just enough to feel confused by the TV ending), but I care a lot about those characters. I missed them so much and just realized it when it was all done, the show was finally finished for good.
I can recommend to anyone which end up liking Nadesico but was reasonably unsatisfied by the ending, I hope you all feel like I did watching this piece by the end
