  Reviewing Wolf Girl and Black Prince

  If you are looking for a romance anime with a tsundere male character I highly recommend this. This anime is about a girl named Erika Shinohara who lies to her friends about having a hot boyfriend, forced into an ultimatum Erika takes a picture of a random boy she sees on the street. Turns out the boy is Kyōya Sata and he is well known as the "Prince" of the school. In desperation Erika ask Sata to be her pretend boyfriend and to her surprise Sata complies, under one condition, "Spin around 3 times and bark". This demand throws Erika into a relationship with Sata which she is referred to as his dog. Throughout the show we are given a glimpse into what Erika's life is like as Kyōya's slave. As she is forced to get drinks for him or even be his shield against rain puddles she finds herself in love. Though until around episode 7-8, Kyōya remains a jerk who likes to demean and order Erika around. Some problems I found in the show was the fact that after they officially got together the Kyōya we knew for half the season had completely disappeared and here came this new loving Kyōya. However some might not find that a problem, I wasn't completely fond of the idea. Though a good things about the show is the solid plot which follows through but still shows a little bit of comedy and romance through Kyōya acting a jerk, and the animation, though some might not really care, the animation was really good and did a good job of showing off Kyōya's looks. However if you find yourself liking this anime just as much as I did, here's the bad news. After some extensive research I couldn't find the right anime just like Wolf Girl and Black Prince. Well I take that back, an anime that was kind of similar was Maid-Sama.

  This is my first review but I really hope that those of you reading this really enjoy it. I would recommend Wolf Girl and Black Prince if you are into the cold male character who takes a liking to a girl and harbors feeling but is still at the same time cold to her. This anime took me for a spin with the animation and plot and I look forward to rewatching it if I am really bored and can't find another anime. Anyway thanks for reading my review and I hope you guys really truly enjoyed it. Let me know if there are things I can work on or things you liked about this series.   Like slowly consuming toxic waste bit by bit.

  Up until now I have had very little experience with any shoujo anime or manga. The only one, that I've had completed so far was Sugar Soldier, which I enjoyed far more than initially expected.

  Having now finished "Wolf Girl and Black Prince" I am so incredibly glad that my first experience did not come from this one, because my god.

  In all fairness, I came into this show with already quite a bias, having heard from friends, that watched the show in their teenage years, how much of an embarrassing shitshow this title was going to be. I am saying this to put into context how shocked I was with the overally quality being even lower than actually expected.

  

  It is not just the story and the characters that dont work to any satisfying degree on any possible level but they are a great place to start. These are not characters. Neither do they show any resemblance to any actual human being beyond a surface level. It doesnt matter how illogical or infuriating they behave in any given scene, the anime will pretend that it is actually a master of story writing with its many "emotional" moments it pretends it earned. The only character I could tolerate was Ayumi. I like Ayumi. She did nothing wrong once.

  But the worst offender has to have been Kyouta. It is actually baffling how much of a contrast there is between how much he acts like an unlikable, whiny, spoiled child and how the show acts at any given point as hes actually the most attractive human being on this earth since the conception of man. I am still trying to find a single positive trait about him. At his best most he does the bare minimum. He is very rarely at his best.

  

  The overally production isnt any better in the slightest. It has actually been awhile since I have seen an anime where it just seems so obvious that not a single person cared. Neither in terms of direction, animation or soundtrack was theire any ounce of fucks that were given. Maybe I am wrong. Maybe someone somewhere really had some passion for this project. But if so then I did not notice.

  The Opening of this anime must have been the funniest example of this. So incredibly bland and void of subastance for the one thing in your production where you want to shine the most. I especially like the last 15 seconds where it feels like the song and visuals were ready to end but someone on the team was like "Shoot, we still have to fill 15 seconds. Quick, add some scenes that mean nothing!"

  However, the most aggrevating part must have been just how overall toxic the message of this anime is.
  "Just keeping hanging onto your toxic partner, he is just reallyyyy bad at conveying his feelings. Dont you dare try and find someone that treats you better or doesnt verbally abuse you. Thats not real love."
  I personally know many friends that actually read/watched this title when they were growing up (for some reason it was reasonably successful in Germany) and the "moral" that children get out this just kind of suck.

  I didnt want this anime to stand out among my ratings but I even struggled to justify giving it something above a 10. It is a piece of art that, whose only redeeming quality to me has been, that I can now appreciate good shows a little bit more. So thanks I guess.

  Dont watch this, nothing is being lost.

  this is literally toxic dog kink role-play.

  I don't think I've ever watched a series more useless than this one, throughout this entire series it did not romantically progress howsoever and when it did somehow get to the point of them dating it was literally the exact same. the male lead is boring and doesn't show any emotion and acts all nonchalant and I swear to you that doesn't change the slightest during the whole series, even when he starts dating the female lead. he treats her like shit and like a dog??????? like ACTUALLY a dog. and worst part is that she likes it for whatever reason, even featuring scenes where she acts like said dog. during the whole time she keeps trying and trying to make him be "nice" or to even show his feelings and I even saw a review prior to this and it said "I-can-fix-him-simulator" and I don't think it can be any closer to the truth. this series is hot garbage honestly the romance is the worst thing, you have to basically imagine it. she would show her love and tell him about it and then he'd pretend he feels the same and when she gets excited he goes all like "is that what u wanted me to say LOLLL loser I would never" and thats not even an exaggeration and he doesn't gaf when she gets deeply upset about it all he says to her is "ur my dog ur supposed to come back to ur owner" and there's no possible way to find sweetness in that cause he's saying it literally. he genuinely sees her as an animal dog and himself as the owner and its not even kinky its just genuine and its SO weird. its almost like a furry romance anime???? and she KEEPS GOING BACK SHE LIKES IT???? he's literally the biggest pos and she doesn't care. it fills anyone with pure rage just seeing her succumb and be delusional to that, she genuinely does not see the concerns in it and instead of stopping pursuing him or breaking up with him she just stays... and runs back to him... and he doesn't change at all im dead he stays the same. keeps treating her like a damn dog and like a loser and she just LOVESSSSS it for absolutely no reason, this series is a waste of life and its honestly not worth watching unless its out of curiosity. ive seen worse than this but honestly this by far has the worst plot I hate it. anyone who likes this please enlighten me with your delusion thoughts about how "cute" this dynamic is cause it sure as hell IS NOT. just dont watch it.
