DESCRIPTION

Sakuradaimon is the school's prefect. A prefect is a student who is authorized to enforce discipline. As a prefect, he's supposed to be a role model to other students, but unfortunately he's not perfect. Kohinata is one of the people who Sakuradaimon has tried to discipline into wearing appropriate school attire, but she has thusfar been disobedient.

And so this is a story of the two interacting with one another.

A wholesome high school romcom with an addictive artstyle
My Review of "The Klutzy Class Monitor and the Girl with the Short Skirt"!

Now THIS is the type of high school romcom that I can get behind!
____Story____
Togo Sakuradaimon is one of the class monitors of a high school. He’s quite the strict class monitor despite being quite unaware and sometimes dumb at times. Then came along Poem Kohinata and her friends Motoko Akina and Rui Tasaki who started causing trouble for Togo. However, the conflict between Poem and Togo would end up with them starting to get close to each other and this conflict is explored further through the episodes.
____The Good____
There were so many things that I liked about this show. Let’s start off with the artstyle. This show looked like it was completely animated by Studio TRIGGER which I absolutely love. That was already more than enough to keep me hooked onto the show, but the character designs looked so cool and dynamic! The sharp lines and corners really made the characters feel more cartoony rather than anime-like, which I think helped it stand out from other shows. While we’re on the topic of design, the background and setting of the anime was decorated and stylized really neatly and it honestly gave a bit of a comic-like feel that I don’t usually see in other anime. Even in animation, the movements of the characters were smooth and their reactions were so nice. The little segments and bits were animated nicely too, which just improved the overall impact of these scenes. I felt like the watching experience was so visually different compared to other high school romcoms, and that makes it really good. Moving on from design and animation, I wanna give props to the ones behind the OP and ED visually and musically. I really enjoyed listening and watching the opening and ending songs of the show and I actually never skipped them at any point because of how enjoyable they were to watch and listen to. And it’s not even just the OP and ED that were musically charming to me. The little rap battle in episode 11 got me hyped as hell. Despite the lyrics not being something you’d usually hear in a rap battle, the overall vibe, delivery, and instrumentals of said rap was enough for me to nod my head and go crazy about. Now, to the story. I thought that the story was really well-paced. The romance didn’t feel rushed nor too slow and I think the decision to show parts of their relationship post-confession was a great decision especially building up to this season’s final episode. The romance honestly got to a point where I was actively cheering on and yelling at my screen to support the characters… which is a bit awkward and also pretty rare for me to do for romance shows. I liked the buildup and the various side storylines with the side characters and their own character development romantically and personally. The comedy was also quite enjoyable too, not taking too much away from the main parts of the story, but also giving a lot of laughs to really make the watching experience more fun. This anime was really built to entertain and I thought that it really brought out the best out of comedic high school romance. I need a season 2 of this ASAP because I CRAVE for more content like this and there’s still so much more left to see between Poem and Togo and the other characters.
____The Bad / The Downright Ugly____
The only bad thing about this show is that it’s only 12 episodes long. I really wanna watch more, but I can only hope for a season 2 announcement in the future. I’m combining my “Downright Ugly” category for this since I really don’t have any complaints about this show.
____Is It Worth The Watch?____
Yes, absolutely worth watching. This show is the perfect high school romcom show for me. It has the comedy, it has the drama, and it has the quirkiness that makes the dynamics between the lovers just that much sweeter and impactful. The studio TRIGGER-like designs and the cartoony/comic-like backgrounds made it stand out in a good way. I think the romance was actually really well-paced and this show does a better job at showing the growth of a relationship than a lot of other high school romcoms. I was completely immersed and invested in the story between Togo and Poem as well as their other friends and family. It was fun to watch this journey and honestly? I really REALLY want season 2 of this show.
