  If you didn’t feel like part 1 was good enough, well, here’s the Sakamoto Days we deserved.

  ____Since this is a sequel, I will skip the usual story and characters section and dive straight into The Good, The Bad, and The Downright Ugly.____ ____The Good____

  Wow. I was absolutely amazed at how many improvements were made to this continuation of Sakamoto Days. The animation, which people complained about in the first part (but I didn’t complain about), was clearly improved on. The action scenes were very entertaining, and had more impact than the first half of this season. The storyline continued to develop, which included my favorite section from the manga, the island exam. I don’t think there was a lot of filler, which made each episode a must watch for me. New characters were introduced, which each had their own quirks and funny moments. Some of them have also been given important roles for the story, which will be interesting to see, assuming a new season will be announced. The comedy was also still pretty good, with characters like Sakamoto himself and new guys like Kill Baby having their own funny scenes too. It really feels like Sakamoto Days' aesthetic is finally coming together, with this section feeling way more Sakamoto than before. I need to mention how awesome the OP and ED were for this season. They definitely felt way more fitting for the Sakamoto aesthetic and are pretty catchy themselves. Overall, Sakamoto Days Part 2 is so much better than its previous part.

  ____The Bad____

  I can’t complain too much with this section because of how much I liked it, but to be nitpicky, I did think the first half of the season with the serial killers was a bit underwhelming. I think I just expected it to have a bit more impact, but it kinda was just there. Not saying that it wasn’t entertaining though. It was still a fun section to watch, just not as fun as the rest of the anime.

  ____The Downright Ugly____

  Ain’t nothing downright ugly about this part 2 anime.

  ____Is It Worth The Watch?____

  This part is absolutely worth the watch. This part truly encapsulates the fun and chaotic nature of Sakamoto Days that part 1 did lack a bit. The animation has clearly improved, and the aesthetics not just from the execution but also to things such as the OP and ED tracks feels way more like a Sakamoto Days anime. This was an amazing watch and I can’t wait for season 2 to be announced.

  The moment Sakamoto Days finds its rhythm.

  After coming back to Sakamoto Days for Part 2, I found myself getting hooked much faster than I did during the first half of the season. Part of that is probably because I already knew the cast, but it's also undeniable that this part puts much more emphasis on action and finally starts moving the main story forward instead of simply introducing new faces.

  One of the biggest improvements over Part 1 is that the series finally feels like it has a clear direction. I never thought the first half was as bad as many people claimed. It was simply very mechanical. Almost every episode followed a similar formula where a new character would appear, something would happen, and then the story would move on to the next introduction. It wasn't boring, but it often felt like you were watching a collection of individual episodes instead of a story building toward something bigger.

  Thankfully, Part 2 changes that. The episodic feeling is still there from time to time, but now everything feels connected by a larger narrative. Instead of constantly asking "Who's the next character?", I started asking "What's going to happen next?" That change alone made the season much more enjoyable.

  Sakamoto continues to be one of the most likable protagonists I've seen in recent years. Whether it's his deadpan humor, the way his expressions somehow say everything despite him barely speaking, or the quiet way he protects the people he cares about, he's simply impossible not to like. Every time he's on screen, the series becomes more entertaining.

  At the same time, I was pleasantly surprised by Shin's development. In Part 1 he mostly felt like the guy following Sakamoto around, but here he starts becoming his own character. Watching him grow, become more confident, and slowly carve out his own place in the story made me much more invested in him than before.

  That said, Nagumo is still my favorite character in the entire series. Every appearance steals the scene. I love how he constantly switches between acting carefree and almost comedic to instantly reminding everyone why he's considered such a dangerous assassin. That contrast makes him incredibly fun to watch, and every scene with him leaves me wanting more.

  The action also received a noticeable upgrade. The fights feel better choreographed, more dynamic, and much easier to follow. By this point, the series has fully established its over-the-top style, so seeing characters pull off ridiculous feats never feels out of place. That's simply the world Sakamoto Days wants to create, and once you accept those rules, the action becomes incredibly entertaining.

  I honestly can't remember a single fight that felt boring. Naturally, the final stretch contains the strongest moments of the season, but that's exactly what the story had been building toward. Spending time developing the conflicts beforehand makes those climactic episodes much more satisfying when they finally arrive.

  If I had to point out one weakness, it would be that several characters receive much less attention in order to make room for newer additions. While I understand why the story needs to expand its cast, I couldn't help feeling that some existing characters deserved a bigger role. Heisuke is probably the best example. I think he has a lot of potential, and I would've loved to see him contribute more instead of spending long stretches on the sidelines.

  What I appreciate most about Sakamoto Days is that it understands exactly what kind of series it wants to be. It isn't trying to revolutionize action anime or completely reinvent the shounen formula. Instead, it blends action, comedy, and drama into something that feels surprisingly charming. It's the kind of show that wins you over through its characters, and once you click with them, it's very easy to keep watching.

  By the time I reached the ending, I was genuinely excited for what comes next. The story leaves enough questions unanswered to make me want to jump straight into the manga, but I think this is one I'll keep experiencing through the anime. Between the action, the voice acting, and Sakamoto himself, I feel like this world is at its best when it's animated.

  If you thought Part 1 was too slow or too episodic, I'd definitely recommend giving Part 2 a chance. It's a noticeable improvement that lays much stronger foundations for the future, and it finally delivers the sense of progression that the first half was missing.
