DESCRIPTION
After Sirone was abandoned in a stable, he was found by a family of hunters and raised in a loving home. Despite the hardships of the peasant life, he learned how to read from a young age and became obsessed with books, especially ones on the history of magic. One day, he has an unlikely encounter with a mage and learns how to enter the "spirit zone," the first step to learning how to use magic. Although they say only nobles can be mages, will Sirone be able to prove his infinite potential?

83/100Infinite mage is interesting, profound, brilliant and yet dissapointing at timesContinue on AniList__This review is spoiler free__ If you do not want to read the whole review and just wants to know if its worth reading then Yes it is definitely worth reading but do not go with much expectations, It's one of the most enjoyable and entertaining manwhas i've ever read. if you love action sequences then sorry but there isn't much action in the first 50-60ish chapters, if you love a emotional story or a plot that hooks you then sorry there isn't much of that either until very much later on. despite all that is it worth reading? yes i think everyone should at least give this manwha a try because of the profundity and thought provoking nature of it's story. it is one of the deepest and one of the most profound and one of the most scientific manwha you'll find right now.
When i first heard about infinite mage i didn't paid much attention to it and just brushed it off as yet another generic cultivation/magic op mc manwha and while i was mostly right about it, i was also blown away by how ridiculously deep it goes with presenting it's ideas and how it present those profound ideas. it tackles so many ideas scientifically and philosophically that almost every 3 chapters you'll be scratching your head in awe and googling terms. while the first few chapters definitely feels your average generic commoner noble magic story it quickly picks up the pace and tries to subverts your expectations with presenting some core issues and i loved every moment of it but that's also the main problem i have with this manwha, yeah sure it does present very profound and thought provoking ideas it does not flesh them out or introduce a clear answer to them or just straight up forgets about it in the next chapters. I'll now divide this review into it's pros and cons and try to give my honest opinions about it.
__PROS__ - Extremely well thought out ideas, excellent power system with clear defined explanantions
- Well written characters for the most part that makes you want to root for them
- absolute great Art and character designs
- Interesting philosophical ideas that gives you midnight existential crisis
- pacing is fine for the most part, can't really complaint but it does feel rushed on some parts
- blends philosophy with science but does not over extend it's ideas to try and push it's answers to the reader
- tries to tackle societal, scientific, moral, existential questions in a healthy and fresh new way (through magic) (like full metal alchemist, monster, pandora hearts and land of lustrous)
__CONS__ - tries to incorporate many ideas and storylines very fast with no clear idea on how to flesh them out and give them meaningful conclusions.
- sometimes clearly forget the questions it tries to ask to it's readers never to be mentioned again
- feels like a hot mess of different plot points with no clear direction on where to lead the story
- has no actual main plot it's just discovering magic and trying to understand what it magic
- bland and very little character development given to its main characters
- feels very generic at times
- falls flat most of the time in presenting it's ideas to the readers as it makes the plot very confusing to follow.
IN CONCLUSION I will conclude this review by saying i whole kindheartedly recommend this manwha to everyone and i ask everyone to at least give it a read even if there are many clear flaws with this manwha. this is the first time i'm writing a review for a piece of media that i'm so passionate about. i acknowledge that there are many flaws with this story but i believe as the story grows the writing and execution will grow as well. i at least acknowledge the hard work the author has put in this thought provoking manwha even if he had no clear way of fleshing out the ideas he presented here. if you are someone who loves thought provoking media and loves the blend of philosophy and science then this manwha is for you. thank you for reading this clumsy review to the end and i wish you a good read.

70/100Easy to enjoy, Hard to recommend. In a nutshell "Wait 60 chapters it will get better"Continue on AniListThis is my very first review, so please bear with me. Before we start: should you read Infinite Mage? The answer is a big fat no—unless you’re absolutely fixated on finishing the story no matter what.
Not gonna lie, the story started off pretty childish. It felt like a 90s kids’ anime, and not in a good way. They tried to make it comedic but ended up creating some weird Frankenstein blend of mid-tier fantasy and awkward humor. The first arc was easily the worst part of the story.
Then came the Magic Academy arc—still pretty mid, nothing particularly notable happened. Everyone seemed to praise Sirone’s character, but honestly, he felt like a blank goody two-shoes with no clear motives or reason behind his kindness. He’s kind because the author forces him to be. From that perspective, Rian was a much better-written character. Even though he’s mostly comedic relief, he felt more natural and engaging than Sirone ever did. The buildup and reveal in this arc were disappointing.
Overall: 2/10.Next comes the Magic School arc—again, nothing special. A lot of new characters (including the main female lead) are introduced, and there’s way too much talk about how magic works. It reminded me of TBATE’s teacher arc where Arthur just rambles about the intricate magic system that nobody cares about. It’s an action fantasy manhwa; no one’s reading it for magical theory. Still, this arc does act as a foundation for the next one, which turns the story from trash into something actually decent.
Overall: 4/10.Now for the best arc so far: the School Shootout arc. It took over 60 chapters to get here, but if you managed to push through, it’s worth it. This is where Sirone’s character development really begins—he finally stops being a goody two-shoes and becomes a real character with motives and depth. Before this, he was just an empty shell, but this arc gives him (and the side characters) proper development and pacing. The Headmaster’s side story was honestly the best-written romance subplot in the manhwa, maybe even one of the best of its kind. I won’t spoil anything, but this arc was genuinely great.
Overall: 8/10.Then comes the MIRO arc, where the story starts showing its true colors. The mysteries of the world and the deeper aspects of the magic system begin to unfold, setting up the grand stage for future arcs.
Overall: 6/10.The latest arc as of writing, the Holiday arc, is the most wholesome one yet—a group of friends going on a double-date adventure. And yes, there’s a beach episode too. In this arc, Sirone finally becomes someone worth rooting for. He starts thinking logically and stops being the naive goody two-shoes he used to be. We also get introduced to the hottest girl in town, and she actually gets proper character development. I was a bit disappointed that Rian didn’t get the same treatment as the red-haired girl, but overall, it was a fun and lighthearted read.
Overall: 7/10.Conclusion:
If you want action—wait 60 chapters.
If you want mystery—wait 60 chapters.
If you want romance—also wait 60 chapters. If you can endure the first 60 chapters, I promise you won’t be disappointed. The beginning is generic, boring, and sometimes cringe-worthy, but it’s still bearable—and maybe even enjoyable for some readers.
Final verdict: starts weak, grows strong, and is worth it only if you’ve got patience.
