Simple historical manhwa. Felt rushed. Definitely got axed.
Riella Tenier lands the role of duchess after Duchess Horssen passes away. Her will states that all her inheritance belongs to Riella. Originally Duchess Horssen had made a deal with Duke Hann, but when he finds out what happens with the inheritance he must find a way to get the magic jewels within 6 months.

Our FL Riella Tenier catches on quick. I wouldn’t say she’s extraordinary, but for someone who’s been a commoner most of her life she navigates through her new role perfectly. I really love her character design the art style somewhat reminds me of Tricked into Becoming the Heroine’s Stepmother

I will be getting into the duke now. At first glance he looks cold hearted, but that image of him changes right after he meets Riella. To be fair he did look like the type of guy who would fall for someone at first glance haha. Sometimes while reading I will be listening to music and there was this one scene where the dukes feelings and the song playing really matched up!!! The song was It won’t stop by Sevyn Streeter. This made me really excited haha! I like that the dukes never felt this way for anyone before so he’s navigating his way through his feelings. I think he was doing a good job.

There was a point in the story where the weather wasn’t cooperating with the events that were planned for the day so he went out of his way and exhausted himself of his power just so Riella could be happy at the event!?

When it comes to Neah I think her time in the story is bittersweet. I love Neah’s personality she’s really spunky. I like Neah and the Duke’s relationship. To me they seem like siblings and I like to head cannon them as that. Despite their past Neah didn’t hold a big grudge against the ML throughout the story for what he did, and I really like that. Usually characters will have animosity towards each other and try to harm them or what not. What really surprised me was that her mother was the dragon Neyphanta. Of course if you thought hard enough it would of been easy to guess they were realated, but I suppose I wasn’t thinking hard enough.? Neyphantas design was beautiful I really like her dragon form as well.

What I really like about this story is the way they continued to bring up Duchess Horssen throughout the story. She had an early death and in most cases stories would have a funeral, say their farewells, and forget about the death. Even after death Duchess Horssen continued to teach the Duke lessons. I think that shows what a good mentor is like.? And not to mention Duchess Horssen’s design from her youth and now resemble each other perfectly. There isn’t any drastic changes just signs of old age and maturity. She looks so powerful!

As I reached the end the chapters did feel as if it got shorter and shorter. The ending definitely felt rushed. The story’s pacing felt faster than it usually would be seeing as to how long they spent on the green haired guy.
I think the series may have been axed, but I wish that the plot could fully play itself out. Not to mention at the end they got married but we didn’t even get a wedding scene!?

Overall this series was an enjoyable read. It has more potential, but it wasn’t bad! I give it a 4/5.
