75/100A fun and sweet fanservice rom-com anime that gets a little too aggressive with the censorship.Continue on AniListWhen it comes to concepts related to fanservice in anime, there are some that are very hard to do well. One of them, probably the biggest one of them, is what I call “Sexual Slapstick.” It’s someone walking into a room and seeing someone undressing, or tripping and falling and copping a feel (or seeing something they shouldn’t. They’re all based around acts that are gross, which means it can be hard to make funny. Season one of We Never Learn did it and What the Hell Are You Doing Here, Teacher? also manages to actually pull it off.
The anime is basically made up of a series of vignettes all based around a common premise – a male student (generally in their senior year of High School) is in a situation with a female teacher. Both parties have crushes on the other but are afraid to act.
Then, an inciting starts the slapstick in motion: the teacher takes shelter in a laundromat after getting drenched in a rainstorm (soaking their top) and the student is doing their laundry there, the teacher is asked by the student’s mother to help watch the student’s younger sibling leaving both of them in close proximity to each other and alone in the house, and so on. Things escalate apace from there, ending up with the teacher either nude or mostly nude, and the student ending up doing something that ends up accidentally getting the teacher’s rocks off.
However, at no point in the process is the teacher angry, nor do they reject the event necessarily. Any hesitance by the teacher is generally explicitly stated, by the teacher through their internal monologue, as being due to risk of discovery and if that risk was removed, they would otherwise be okay with the situation.
Where the show gets weird is the fact that this aired on television. Taken in isolation, this seems like a really good premise for a hentai anime or an eromanga. In all seriousness, all you would need to do in order to make that leap is to have each scenario escalate into the characters actually having sex. The show never actually goes that far.
On top of all of that, there is very, very heavy use of censorship images in the anime – starting from censor images over (to use the Tumblr terminology) “Female presenting nipples”, to full-screen images during “buffalo shots” (to use the MST3K terminology) to, absurdly enough, kissing (but not hand-holding).
I mean, the show works, both as a sexy romance as a slapstick comedy, but I also feel like it would work better once the uncensored release came out (if an uncensored release comes out), or at least a release with censorship that takes up less screen real-estate. We’ll have to see.

100/100This is the most wholesome anime I've ever seen in my lifeContinue on AniListDespite how this show may appear and what you would gather from the synopsis, this is actually a surprisingly wholesome show. What, you don't believe me? I don't know why you wouldn't considering that this show definitely doesn't have scenes where a student gets into a ridiculously compromising situation with his young, hot teachers. No, there is definitely nothing like that in this show.
You won't be finding scenes where a student takes his teacher on a piggy back ride that causes her clothes to slowly fall off and for her naked body to end up being pressed against his back, no, not in this show.
You won't be watching scenes where a small hermit crab latches itself onto a teachers nipple, prompting her to get her student (that she is vacationing with) to grab it but he gets the wrong nipple and gropes her instead.
There isn't a scene where a student and a teacher get stuck in a cave together and the student gets sick, causing him to go a little weird which makes him suck on his teacher's teet and eat her out for no real reason. If there was a scene like this than I wouldn't feel comfortable showing this show to my teachers at school so luckily there isn't anything like that in this show.
This show also absouletly does not have a scene where a teacher is scaring students in a bear costume, is caught by her student who somehow ends up inside the bear costume with her, face first into her under-area which happens to be bare since she decided not to wear panties that day. That would be shameful and disgusting and has no place in a show like this.
There definitely also isn't a scene where a teacher wants to give a student a chocolate but the chocolate falls and splats onto her breasts causing the student to say: 'Surprise Chocolate Fondue!' and then having him fall onto her breasts and eat the chocolate off of her teet. That would be weird and perverted and thankfully this show is free from anything like that.
Overall, this is a very wholesome romance anime that has some of the cutest and least perverted scenes I've scene in anything recently. If this show was raunchy and perverted then surely the teachers would get fired for sexually harassing their students and constantly putting themselves in sexy and compromising situations. But it's not so I don't have to worry about logistic problems like that. Even if it was I wouldn't complain. To conclude, this is a very sweet romance anime that is perfect to show your parents, younger siblings and especially teachers. Hell, I showed this show to my cousin who was in love with one of his teachers which inspired him to act on his urges which ended with him in a juvenile detention center and the teacher serving five years in prison.
Hmmm, you know what, this show might actually be extremely perverted and raunchy. Well, honest mistake.

50/100What had a lot of potential turns out to feel pretty rushed.Continue on AniListWhy the hell are you here, Teacher!?
[MINOR PLOT SPOILERS]

I saw this anime while I was mindlessly browsing popular TV Shorts to see what people were watching. The character designs and art style kinda caught by eye (although it isn't anything mindblowing, so I'm not sure why it even stood out to me), and I decided to give this a watch, considering blowing through TV Shorts doesn't take long at all. I went in expecting a generally wholesome story with a little bit of Ecchi content from time to time, and while I kinda did get that, there was definitely a few things that I didn't quite expect, and I wouldn't say it was in the best way possible. There are definitely enjoyable aspects regardless though, so this review isn't just doom and gloom!
The story is generally about the relationships several students have with their teachers, with a bit of a twist to it. Rather than being your casual situations with these students and their teachers, these students actually have romantic feelings for their teachers, only to later find out that their teachers feel the exact same way about them too! Reading about a plot like this, I expected it to be pretty wholesome and interesting, so I went into it with an open mind.
The relationships that are formed between the students and the teachers was definitely the best aspect of this entire Anime. I thought the character development, alongside the progression of the relationships was pretty good, and it's definitely the best thing the show has going for itself. However, the execution of it, and the Ecchi scenes all either felt rushed, or even forced. For the plot, every 3 episodes, the series is focused on a new student and a new teacher, while keeping the previous ones involved in the show. I thought the idea of focusing on different characters from time to time was a neat aspect, and it kept the show interesting to an extent. However, I feel like a lot of what happens turns out to be very repetitive, as if the writers ran out of ideas on how to progress the story, and reused the same events that happened with previous characters in future episodes. The same problems (falling awkwardly leading to landing in awkward/sexual positions, having some minor event leading to a bra coming undone, Etc.) all happen for 3 to 4 of the students and teachers, and I feel that it just lacks creativity. Things definitely got very predictable after the first half, and it definitely made the Anime less exciting at times. Though there were some unique situations that each part had, so I'll give it that. As for the Ecchi scenes, the mass majority of them definitely feel exaggerated and forced into the show for the sake of adding nudity. Most of the situations that lead to those Ecchi scenes feel pretty overdramatic and unrealistic, and I feel like it made a handful of the episodes come off as almost corny in a way. The Ecchi scenes are a part of the plot, I know, but I feel like there were a million better ways to execute them rather than the same thing 3 times. One more thing I will say though, I did find the personalities of every teacher rather interesting, and it was definitely another aspect of this show that I did like! I like how they all have vastly different personalities and behaviors to one another, and it kept things a little more interesting. I did like the characters in this show, so while the situations they get into felt rushed, the characters themselves are really cool personality wise.
Overall, this Anime isn't necessarily bad, don't get the wrong idea. However, there was a lot of potential in terms of how interesting the concept is, and I feel like that potential was somewhat thrown away due to this series getting repetitive and feeling somewhat rushed (to me at least). Honestly though, this is the first Ecchi Anime I have watched, so maybe this genre just isn't for me at all. I can see the positive aspects, and I did enjoy parts of this anime for sure (the ending was very wholesome, and I really liked it actually), but there are some very obvious flaws that make this a little less enjoyable to an extent. It has its moments for sure, but I can't really recommend this unless the plot really grabs your attention, then you might like this a lot more than I did. It's nice to try something new though, even if this isn't my cup of tea.
